Tonight was a very special one for Schleswig, this little town in the north of Germany. One of the world’s most renown nature photographers was here for an exclusive retrospective presentation of his 50 years journey in photography. He’s indeed one of my idols. It was a book with the photos of Jim Brandenburg that made me dive deeper in nature photography and see things as I didn’t see them before.

Today this book got a signature!

Jim’s trip was not only exciting for us German admirers but also for him: He came back to his roots, the tiny village of Idstedt right out of Schleswig. His great-grandfather left Idstedt in the 1870s to settle down in the plains of Minnesota. Yesterday he met part of his family here.
