Ah, spring… this was one of our first forest-visits after the snow had finally gone this year. Still the mood has something of autumn for me.

This is the forest between Schleswig and Idstedt, the place of a famous battle in the First Schleswig War in 1850, when the people of Schleswig-Holstein wanted to break free from the Danish rule. There are still graves of fallen soldiers around this forest, which makes it a somewhat creepy place.
