This photo was shot along the way of our Christmas morning walk. I liked how the dried thistle balls stood out against the dark background. That background is actually a little stream (black) and the small slope on the other side of it, covered by snow and lying in shadow – hence the nice blue.
I could blur it totally by shooting with a tele lens at a pretty close distance to the thistle. Having the object that close it already is enough to have backgrund just some meters away to go totally creamy.
