This is the last of the tulips that we kept until now. Today I noticed that it turned into a beautiful strong purple at the borders while getting dry. I just took it and put it on our white desktop, using just the desktop lights.

For this photo I used my new ebay extension tubes for macro photography. As I didn’t want to have a big magnification but only wanted to get a bit closer to the tulip than the lens would allow I used the smalled possible extension. (What the extensions tube basically do is to allow you get closer to the subject than you could with the respective lens. So in return you get a bigger magnification.)

Photo data: Pentax K20D, 50 mm lens on extension tube, f 1.7, 1/40 second and ISO 1000.
