It is not too rare to see sundogs or phantom suns when watching to the sky consciously every now and then. But a complete halo in rainbow colors going all around the sun is something that I only have seen very few times. This was one of those times – and to make it even better it was on the coast, with free view to the sun.

The photo was taken at the west coast, on the narrow gauge railway crossing to Nordstrandischmoor, a small Hallig.

Photo data: Pentax K100D, 18-55 mm lens at 18 mm, f11, 1/500 second and ISO 200.
