Today I had several photos to take on the Eiderstedt peninsula at the west coast. I took the small roads, which was a great experience. Everything seemed totally still and calm under the blanket of snow, and there was almost no traffic during the afternoon.

When the sun was about to set the scene got almost otherworldly. The fields got flooded during the warmer weekend and now are just flat areas of ice and snow. Driving on a road on top of a kind of dam it was like driving through a desert of ice. The low sun with it’s orange and magenta colored light and the shadows reflecting the blue sky increased that surreal impression.
