Yesterday was family celebration time. It is 60 years since my grandparents got married. We had a meeting of my father’s and my aunt’s side of the family at my grannie’s home. As usual there was a vast amount of delicious cakes (too much!) and lots of interesting stories from the old times (never enough!).

My aunt made a great Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black forest cherry cake), which is portrayed above. (Please notice the plate. It is family heritage at least since the family of my grandmother’s grandmother. 19th century!)
