These three hares are the symbol of the city of Paderborn. We paid a short visit on our way to my aunt in Nordrhein-Westfalen on Monday. What a beautiful town with thousands of years of history!

This symbol was carved over one window in the cathedral in the 16th century and became very popular. Three hares with three ears – but still every hare has two ears. These hares are in the handrail at the entrance of a house.
