Somehow this view had something of a classic painting to me, showing the view to a small village in the countryside. This is Westerhever on the Eiderstedt peninsula at the German west coast, taken on an early summer day. My great-grandfather was pastor in this old church.

I wanted this to look even more like an old colorized photograph, and I think I’m getting pretty close to the look that I was thinking of.
